2015 was a massive year for Nesta Baxter, a 15 year old kickboxer who attends Boston High School. Nesta represents Evolution Martial Arts and Team Blue Blood and we are proud to sponsor her here at Fogarty. We wish her all the best in 2016!
Nesta Baxter represented Team Great Britain once again in 2015 after being selected for the previous three years. She was selected after winning her categories at the WAKO Kickboxing British Champions and was accepted at the Great Britain Training Camp in July at Lilleshall.
Nesta fought at the WAKO Kickboxing European Championships in San Sebastián, Spain. After a lot of preparation and training camp this championship would be one to remember. Nesta beat countries which included Italy, Poland, Croatia, Hungary and Germany to claim the title of WAKO KICKBOXING EUROPEAN CHAMPION 2015 in the category of -55kg girls older cadet (13-15yrs) point fighting and also became silver medalist in the category of -55kg girls older cadet(13-15yrs) continuous.
This year in June, Nesta also won the CIMAC Kickboxing World Cup which was held in Windsor, London. Nesta won two golds at the Junior Kickboxing Euro Cup also held in Windsor in May where she also achieved fighter of the tournament. At the beginning of the year Nesta achieved her very best at the WAKO Kickboxing British Championships claiming three British titles which included -55kg girls older cadet (13-15yrs) -55kg point fighting and continuous and then also -55kg junior (16-18yrs) girls continuous.
Nesta fought internationally at kickboxing tournaments in Dublin Ireland, Rimini Italy, Prague Czech Republic and San Sebastián Spain. Nesta fought at the WAKO Kickboxing Czech Open which was held in the beautiful city of Prague Nesta had some outstanding performances winning three sections which were the -55kg girls older cadet (13-15yrs) point fighting and continuous and then in the Ladies -55kg continuous, Nesta also received silver in the junior (16-18yrs) girls -55kg point fighting after narrowly losing out by a point to a top class Hungarian fighter.
At the Bestfighter World Cup held in Rimini, Italy, she came home with a silver and a bronze. Throughout the year Nesta has been attending a series of tournaments called the CIMAC Superleauge up and down the country and at the end of the year she earned two grand champions and eight gold medals in total from these series. Along with these series Nesta attended a variety of other tournaments coming home with a lot of medals which included wins at international competitions Bristol Open, Watford Open and Top Ten where she achieved an outstanding four golds.
To top off the year Nesta achieved Team Blue Blood athlete of the year 2015. So, after an amazing year, Nesta is looking forward to 2016 with some goals to attain. We all wish her all the best this year here at Fogarty.
